Surgery

Soft tissue surgery: spaying and neutering, tumor surgery and removal of foreign bodies.

We say in advance what we do and what we do not do — the boundary of our own practice is part of patient safety.

In our clinic we perform soft tissue surgery; for orthopedic surgery we refer you to colleagues who specialize in it.

Scope of practice

What we do in our clinic

In our clinic we perform soft tissue surgery. If necessary, for orthopedic surgery we will refer you to colleagues who do this as their specialty and have the best recommendations. Alongside standard procedures such as castration and spaying of dogs and cats, we also perform surgery for tumors and foreign bodies (on the skin and in the digestive tract).

Preparation

Before the procedure

When booking the procedure, we will guide you through everything that may need to be done beforehand (minimal activity – if possible, do not walk the dog to the clinic – as well as checking for any suspicion of a raised temperature in the animal, and mandatory fasting when blood is drawn for biochemistry and other tests or when the pet is put under anesthesia).

Before anesthesia we usually run a complete blood count and biochemistry tests in our own laboratory, and an ECG if needed, so that we know how the organs function before putting the patient under anesthesia.
